United Christian Church (UCC) paved a way for the celebration of SOMMABCA-WMU’s 3rd quarterly fellowship for the year 2017 through a parenting seminar held on October 21, 2017, Saturday.
The parenting seminar took place with the theme, “Raising Kids Without Raising Your BP”.
The Women’s Missionary Union (WMU) members and non-WMU participants paid P75 and P50 respectively, as their registration fees.
Several churches namely, The Voice of God’s Love Christian Church (TVGLCC), Village Baptist Church (VBC), Joy in Christ Christian Fellowship (JICF), The Church at Better Living (CBL), Paco Baptist Church (PBC), Moonwalk Baptist Church (MoBC), Muntinlupa Baptist Church (MuBC), The Lord’s Epistle Baptist Church (LEBC), Lakeview Baptist Church (LBC), Pildera 2 Southern Baptist Church (P2SBC), Jesus the Christ Baptist Church (JCBC), Church of Jesus Christ the Firm Foundation (CJCFF), Channel of Blessings Baptist Church (CBBC), Maranatha Baptist Church (MaBC), Mendiola Baptist Church (MeBC), and Sunny Brooke Baptist Church (SBBC) went to witness the parenting seminar.
The highest number of delegates was awarded to CJCFF for having 19 delegates.
The event started with giving praises and thanksgiving to the Lord through the singing of worship songs led by UCC Praise and Worship Team.
After that, an icebreaker activity was done to welcome and warm up the conversation among participants. All were tasked to cluster into groups, and each group was assigned to perform a short skit about different family situations.
When the energizing segment ended, the speaker arrived and was introduced to the mothers and fathers who were present in the event.
The speaker was no other than Dr. Bessie Rios, a broadcaster of “Moms at Heart” in Agapay ng Sambayanan 702 DZAS radio station and the author of “Memo ni Mommy” and “Ang Nanay Kong Titser.”
Despite the rainy weather, the attendees remained focused and determined to listen and learn sound advice from the counselor.
Because of God’s grace, the event ended not only with fulfilling the minds and hearts of all participants, but also with the strengthening of their physical bodies through a delicious lunch prepared by willing servants from UCC.
To God be the glory!
